ResumeAbout Me
Know Me More
I'm Alex De Guzman, a software engineer
based in Orange County, CA. I earned my degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science and worked as a certified personal trainer and physical therapy aide for four years before making the switch in my career.
I am a fitness enthusiast and I love building things, so I combined my two passions by developing web applications on my free time for myself and other athletes to use. Whether it is helping with fitness training, choosing a place to eat, or calculating how to split the bill, I believe there are multiple solutions to a problem and there are a variety of ways to be more efficient in daily tasks. Being able to design and create projects to help with efficiency is what excites me most.

Story Time
Story Time
After experiencing a motorcycle accident, I stumbled across the world of software engineering while I was in the hospital, with 4 broken ribs and nothing with me but a laptop. Tired of binge-watching Netflix 24/7, I decided I needed to keep my brain active and learning. Within 2 days, I had completed an intro course and had completely fallen in love with it. I recovered from the accident, quit the 3 jobs I was working, and left the comfort of my hometown in Los Angeles to change my career and pursue becoming a software engineer. Since then, I have gained and sharpened technical skills, familiarized myself with multiple frameworks and libraries, and built a variety of full stack web applications. Although I have a new path ahead of me, I want to bridge the gap between the fitness industry and tech industry, so here I am!
